Default Fevered spear [build]

OK since no one is posting builds any more, here's another one. If anyone wants to have fun in RA and is tired of e-denial:

Fevered spear

Me/P

Skills:
Fevered Dreams [E]
Fragility
Shrinking Armor
Accumulated Pain
Barbed Spear
Maiming Spear
Blazing Spear
Rez signet

Stats:
9 FC
9+ Spear mastery
the rest in Illusion

Equipment:
Customized spear with Strength and Honor and +5 armor mod.
Spear should have silencing mod. I know it works on Technobabble and if I counted correctly on Master of Damage it works on FD too (I accept corrections). That means 4 second daze.

As adrenaline classes usually do: adrenalin can be gained before battle starts by chucking a spear or two. Barbed+Maiming is also good defensive combo, on an off target. Shrinking Armor is also cover hex, but if monk has hex removal prepared just trick him by casting Shrinking first, which will trigger cracked, then the sequence of FD>Frag>Accumulated for daze. Dont spam skills. New condition should be cast so it extends daze, instead of applying all possible conditions in 3 seconds.

I like it in AB too, but used Me/N variation there.

I have actually faced you several times in RA while you were using that same build. I have to admit though, Me/P with Fragility and some readily available conditions via the secondary's attack line isn't anything new.

Having tried it myself before posting, I certainly found it fun, albeit the occasional PnH monk you face or generally any decent pre-veiling, completely screws it up. So much so, in fact, that I felt as though I was auto-attacking for the most part in some matches.

As a side note, you should play around with PD if you are looking for something refreshing; the ability to res-control in 4v4 play is just amusing.

Hardly anything is new these days Of course many used Fragility in RA, but tell me, when did you see a mesmer with Fevered Dreams in RA aside of me lately? Honestly, I can't remember when I saw one. It's all either standard domination with Backfire and Empathy (something I played a lot in Prophecies and later) or just e-denial. Even illusion mesmers of any kind are very rare. I myself always enjoyed domination the most, but eventually one gets tired of it.

Prevailing isn't a major problem, just trick him by casting Shrinking armor first. I beat PnH monks too, my main problem are actually syncing teams like RenO people - and no decent monk. But that's classic.

I agree but I find ranger better for that. How do you handle energy on a mesmer when using PD?

It's viable and fun, but it's not the best mesmer build for RA I think, if that's what you're asking If you want glad farm build I'd go with a monk, hammer warrior or assassin - I find those quite ridiculous in RA.

I haven't noticed many FD mesmers in RA as of late, true. I myself have also been running Domination almost exclusively, and I do not see that changing anytime soon; Illusion is just an inferior line, with a select number of useful skills. I just roll with another profession when I get tired of Domination, heh.

I couldn't agree more.

Those who haven't had much experience with it would often ask the same thing. If you played PD in balanced HA teams, you would most likely understand the logic behind the enigma that is PD. Oftentimes, you would want to use it as a main interrupt on pretty much all major skills - the trick is to save it for the situations where it is most needed. Make sure not to fall for the res-happy players who are so wise as to cancel-cast their res just to find out it ends up getting interrupted by a skilled player regardless of their relentless effort.

I would say it's certainly viable, just not optimal, as with most casters playing in RA (squishy-land with few decent monks ).

Used to run basically this back in the day. Except I didn't put any atts into spear mastery. I was going for the fragility spike, and if your conditions only last a few seconds you get the fragility hit twice in quick bursts, like with blazing. Plus pew pewing with your spear really doesn't matter damage wise.

I've been running a build pretty close to this for years as Tamamba Blackmorrow and Hexual Abuse.... You have your atts and gear way different then me, and a couple different skills but same effect I guess. It is damn effective if you're smart with it and good with emanagement =).
